How do I start over again with an Apple laptop?
My dad gave me his Mac and I want to restart the laptop as if it's all new. But I want to keep his 7GB worth of songs. How do I make it all new and keep the songs at the same time? Is it possible to move the songs to a flash memory? Thanks in advance. :) ~Mehh (:

If you put all of the songs into iTunes, then put all of those on a back-up disc, which is what iTunes asks you to do every-so-often, then you will have his entire libraray on one disc. Once you have done whatever you feel necessary to the Apple notebook you can insert the disc when the machine is on and put all the files back on. Hope this helps. back up the songs on a disk or external hard drive, then i would recommend getting the latest version of leopard for mac, its around $120 bucks, this way you can get all the newest updates and best system thats out right now. If you have a mac store or mac authority store around, you can call them and ask them for help, they are usually really helpful

You can put them on flash drives, DVDs, or an external hard drive. IF the MAC has leopard you can take it back to fresh out of the box. It is called Time Machine.
