apple laptop?
my apple laptop screen is cracked at the bottom! how much would it cost to repair it, with the warrenty and without the warrenty??? HELP! the laptop works fine! it is just that the screen is CRACKED!

It won't cost a dime if it's still under warranty (you should get AppleCare), but it will cost a fortune if you don't have a valid warranty anymore. Good luck!

with warrenty free, without warrenty..at least 500bucks. if its without warrenty, i'd just buy a new one if you're that bothered by the cracked screen (which, i would be).

HI I HAVE A QUESTION, SOMEONE OFFERS SMUGGLED APPLE LAPTOPS. OBVIOUSLY HIS PRICE IS VERY CHEAP COMPARE TO THE RETAIL PRICE OF ANY APPLE MACS. HOWEVER, SINCE THESE ARE SMUGGLED LAPTOPS. DOES THAT MEAN THESE LAPTOPS DOES NOT HAVE WARRANTIES? IF SO, CAN IT POSSIBLE THAT I WILL JUST BUY AN APPLE CARE WARRANTY SO THAT THE APPLE LAPTOP CAN HAVE SERVICE WARRANTY? THANK YOU!!!

yes they all have service warranty.bacause the are all the big company to made the computer.

yes, because it doesn't matter who owns it, there is still service warranty on it, but i would think twice about purchasing stolen merchandise just incase the serial numbers are tracked, you could wind up in deep crap =-O so just consider getting one cheap from somewhere else

If you find a price on a computer that is below what the manufacturer is selling them for, they may be able to provide discounts from education or volume purchasing. (i.e.- How Wal-Mart and Costco can offer such low prices). If the price is extremely low, the laptop may be hot. Apple has a database of stolen laptop serial numbers. If you purchase a stolen laptop and try to call in for warranty service, they will inform the local police, and you may be in a load of trouble for purchasing stolen property. You can purchase AppleCare, the extended warranty service, but it must be linked to a serial number and when you try to link it, Apple will search the stolen laptop database.

Apple laptop?
Ok, I am a comparative newbie to the computer world and a definate novice to the Apple. Am looking at getting a laptop for my personal use and for the kids to get comfortable with using an Apple and a PC. Have been to the Apple store in our local mall to look a bit. This will not be used for games (much) just personal web surfing, some finances, photos and other basic stuff. Any suggestions on what model to buy? How do you feel about refurbished models for Apple? Extended warranties worth it? Please not too technical and thank you for your help

i dont know what model u should get. Just look in a price range. Dont get a refurbished one. Extended warrranties are worth it on a laptop for sure. hope this helps

Pretty much any stock configuration will be suitable for what you need to do. The only decision you really need to make is how big a screen you want. If you want a 13", get a Macbook. If you want a larger screen, you'll need a Macbook Pro. If you can afford 2GB of RAM, it's a worthwhile upgrade, though 1GB will likely suit your needs. AppleCare (Apple's extended warranty) is a worthwhile purchase. Refurbs are hit or miss. If you're a gambling sort, I'd get one from http://www.smalldog.com/ They have a great reputation in the Apple community and great customer service if something goes wrong. Actually, even if you don't get a refurb, they're a great company to deal with and will happily answer any of your questions.

I bought a refurbished iBook G4 from the Apple online store and it works great, even after 3 years. In fact, most people I've talked to who have bought a refurb directly from Apple were happier with it than new machines they have bought. New machines are not tested thoroughly before they are shipped, refurbished are.

Apple Laptop
Apple Laptop?
I have an Apple laptop that runs OSX 10.2.8 but needs upgrade in order to accept Safari 2.0. Running Safari 1.0.3 right now and it is not compatable with a lot of web pages including Y-answers. (not using it now obviously *laugh) E-bay has a TON of laptops on there for dirt cheap but I am affraid that they will be in the same condition as the one I have currently--old, out of date and incapable. Can someone take a look at e-Bay and recommend which laptop on there would be a decent deal for me please. I dont really know much about what a DELL or what other laptops contain. I need Microsoft Word and a current version of Explorer so I can access sites and interact with them properly along with Instant Message. I also watch a lot of Utube, have an MP3 player and and digital camera and would really need the laptop to be capable of handeling those accessories also. I am looking to spend as little as $200 only if possible.

Your not going to find one for under 200. What laptop do you currently have? If it's an ibook or powerbook. SImply spend a little bit and upgrade your OS. Again I need to know what laptop you have to see if it can handle a higher OS, most likely yes since your running 10.2.
