What are the pros and cons your Apple laptop?

What are the pros and cons your Apple laptop?
What are the pros and cons of your Apple laptop? I'm in the market, and thinking seriously about the new apple macbook pro, but I NEED to know what to expect before I decide for sure. Is this a wise decision? I'll be doing lots of writing on it, so I need a GREAT battery and something that won't freeze. I want exceptional quality, will I find it with Apple or do I need to go elsewhere? PLEASE HELP!!!

The only con of Macs are the price. For the price you spend on a decent Mac laptop, you could get a super computer Dell laptop. It's all about how much you want to spend.

Apple has the top rated laptops for battery life, & tech support. You get to not worry about 115,000 Windows viruses. I have both an iMac and a MacBook, I have never had either computer freeze completely. If an application freezes, you can force quit it and continue without restarting the computer. Both are wi-fi ready and have built in webcams and a ton of software.

I agree with Kahless. I've had my MacBook for over a year - and I wouldn't change! Granted, I did have the factory-installed hard drive fail on me after a little over a year (when the warranty had just expired). However, with that being said, replacement hard drives are not all that expensive. But moreover, technology is faulty. Any hard drive could go at any time. It's just the nature of the beast. So, aside from the hard drive, the MacBook has been wonderful! I don't have to worry about viruses, and the programs it comes loaded with are great! If ever you should have to use Microsoft applications, they make Mac versions so that your files will transfer seamlessly from a Mac to a PC. The battery life of Macs are also very good. The entire system has never frozen on me; only a select few applications when there are a lot running. Every computer has it's flaws - but I would recommend Apple most definitely. It has less.

How do i connect my apple laptop with my cannon printer?

How do i connect my apple laptop with my cannon printer?
I bought an apple laptop and cannon printer that were compatible on the apple website. The printer guide said i needed to plug in the USB from the printer to the laptop. The problem is, it didn't come with a USB cable. Shouldn't it have come with this? I tried other USB's but none of them fit right. Do i contact Apple because it should have come with a USB? or do I just go somewhere and buy one?

Most printers do not include the USB cable. You do have to purchase it separately.

No. Apples only come with Apple software on them, and Office is a Microsoft program. You can get openoffice.org for free and install that on your Apple though!
2 :
No, it unfortunately does not, you'll need to order it separately. I have Office for Mac on my Mac, and I find it runs pretty poorly. As a cheaper alternative, I'd recommend Apple iWork's Pages. It's somewhere like $79 and Pages can export and open all Microsoft word formats.

depends on what he is going to use the laptop for
4 :
Wow, first of all any 6 year old who is getting a laptop is...well i wont say it but if he has to get a laptop then yes go with the 2.1 ghz white macbook not to expensive, easy to use, and has enough memory for a six year old. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook i'm not an expert but that's my answer, Yak

No way, he's SIX. how can he appreciate the fineness of an apple laptop? them things are well fragile anyway so he would probably break it. I didnt even have a brick PC when I was that age never mind a top of the range laptop. I think he's too young. I hope your parents don't spoil him too much... very unhealthy..
6 :
Too small to be aware that he must take care of it. Vtech have plenty of products for children of that age.
7 :
No. Laptops, especially one from Apple, are very expensive. A 6 year old (no offense to your brother) is a very clumsy creature. Seldom will you see one without bruises or scratches. Unlike 6 year olds, laptops do not hold up well against a rough lifestyle. The laptop will likely be broken within a month.
8 :
NO WAY!!! He's way too young to even have his own computer let alone his own laptop.
9 :
If you're asking if he should get a laptop in general, I'd say no, he's too young. If your asking if since he's getting a laptop, should he get an Apple or some other kind, well: Personally, with all the problems I've had with windows, an Apple is the best way to go. If your parents are worried about the cost, try purchasing a refurbished laptop. This mean there was a problem with the laptop, they sent it back, it got fixed, and now it's discount. Try the apple website for more details.

no, a six year old does not need nor can he take proper care of a laptop, get a cheap windows laptop... mac is not worth the money at his age.
11 :
No hes to young.
12 :
Maybe they should just wait and see how well he takes care of the desktop. If he does well, he can earn the Apple. Unless they don't mind wasting their money if he does anything to it.
13 :
what does he need a laptop for?.. they are very fragile... and most people dont even know how to use a mac, end up getting them and having to teach themselves how to use a computer all over again.... spoiled bastard.
14 :
I think that anyone even considering buying a 6 year old a new apple laptop is ridiculous.
15 :
WHAT??? no offence but your brother is a spoilt brat by the way he's got your old desktop so does he really need a laptop? so sorry about what i said about your brother
16 :
Why does a six year old need a computer anyway?
17 :
No, he's six, not sixteen. The boy can't even read, so why does he need a computer? He can be exposed to way too many bad things and what is he going to use it for, Video Games? That isn't good for his eyes or brain. He's too young, he should be outside playing with his friends. That's alot healthier than being on an expensive computer that he could break being at such a young age. Apple is a great computer, but he doesn't need one now, wait till he's in middle school or something.
18 :
No at six he should be riding his bike, Playing with matchbox cars, going to friends houses after school. Not sitting inside on a computer. He wouldnt even get the most out of it and i believe you dont need a laptop until senior year of highschool. I didnt get my laptop until i started uni. Your old desk top should be enough for him even though a six yr old doesnt need to use a computer
